Stephanie Lumsden is a member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe in Northern California. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies from Portland State University in 2011 and her Master’s degree in Native American Studies from the University of California, Davis in 2014. She earned her second Master’s degree in Gender Studies in 2018. She is currently a PhD student in the Gender Studies department at UCLA and a lecturer in Ethnic Studies at Mills College. She is also a recipient of the 2020/2021 Ford Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship. Her dissertation project
