Biography

Jessica Fremland (she/her/hers). My research interests draw on indigenous feminisms and carceral studies to examine methods of resistance engaged by Native communities to create new worlds in the midst of settler colonial violence. It centers performance-based activism, and uses the sensory registers of movement, sound, sight, and smell to understand the ways Indigenous activists resist the total violence of settler colonialism.
